Mission
ready.
You've got the briefing. The crew can go.
A web app in the browser, ready in 5 minutes. Here's everything the website doesn't tell you — prep, practice, what-if. A quick skim is enough.

5 minutes,
and you're ready.
No homework. But if you take care of these few things the day before or that morning, the day will run itself.
Logistics & tech check — 3 minutes
- ✓Have the game link and game code ready. The game runs in the browser — link and game code arrive by email after booking. On the day, enter the game code on the start screen.
- ✓Pick a start time (optional). The route page has a slot planner — that way at most 3 teams are out per hour. Start window: weekdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends from 10.
- ✓Rough meeting point: Berlin-Rixdorf. Get there via U-Bahn Karl-Marx-Straße or S-Bahn Sonnenallee — Rixdorf is just a few minutes away. Meet up, for example, in a café on Richardstraße or at Alfred-Scholz-Platz. You don't need to look for the exact start: as soon as you enter your game code, the app's built-in navigation guides you straight to the first station.
- ✓Finish & getting back: Alfred-Scholz-Platz. The adventure ends at Alfred-Scholz-Platz — from there it's just a few minutes back to U-Bahn Karl-Marx-Straße or S-Bahn Sonnenallee. If you come by bike, park it around Alfred-Scholz-Platz or Richardplatz.
- ✓Charge a smartphone or tablet fully. One per team — the smartphone finds locations most reliably (GPS), the tablet has the bigger screen for everyone to look at together. Important: with a camera, because the crew takes a photo at each station (these become your collage at the end). Toss a power bank in the bag — never hurts.
- ✓Enable location services (GPS). Settings → Privacy → Location → allow browser.
- ✓Allow camera access in the browser. The kids take the "time-proof" — one photo per station — right in the game.
- ✓Test the volume. Nauti talks to the kids. Audio on, headphones optional.
Talk it through with the kids — 2 minutes
Four sentences that help before you start:
"You're a crew."
No one's the boss. You vote on tasks — thumbs up, thumbs down, thumbs sideways. Majority wins.
"There's no winning or losing."
The chest only opens when you have all 10 letters. Pace doesn't matter, stopwatch off.
"If you get stuck: ask Nauti!"
Nauti gives hints — up to three times if needed. Solutions come from the team.
"We stick together."
Before each station, find a safe spot to stand — where you don't block anyone. No one runs ahead alone. Navigator leads, everyone follows.
Companion.
Not tour guide.
The most common adult reflex: jump in the moment kids are thinking. Please don't. That thinking is the game. Three points — the rest comes intuitively.
Traffic, lights, keep entrances clear. You have the final say on traffic — always. Safety beats game.
Puzzles are kids' business. Nauti has hints built in — the kids ask Nauti, not you. Bite your tongue — it's worth it.
Cheer Stardust, join the crew codex chat. The Chronicler takes the station photo — if the whole crew should be in it, take over the device for a moment. You're audience + crew anchor.

When a frustrated kid comes to you: don't give the answer. Instead: "What did Nauti just say? What do you already know?" — usually that's enough.
When you do step in
- →Traffic. Always. Even when the kids are deeply focused — you'll spot an e-scooter sooner.
- →Argument escalates. Suggestion: 1-minute pause, everyone says one sentence, then thumbs vote.
- →Energy is gone. You actively propose a break — kids sometimes notice too late.
- →Something's unclear. Explaining terms is fine (see mini game guide below). Solving tasks isn't.
Bag on.
Let's go.
Smartphone/tablet · water · snack · weather jacket. That's all you need. Everything else is bonus.
Must-haves
Smartphone = most reliable at finding locations (GPS); tablet = bigger screen, nice for looking together. Fully charged, with internet, camera + GPS enabled.
Lifesaver. A game runs 120–180 min incl. intro and breaks — audio + GPS drain battery.
At least 0.5 l per child. Granola bars, fruit — whatever the crew likes.
Layers. Shoes you can walk 2.5 km in.
Nice to have
When kids want to hear Nauti undisturbed — or when it's loud around them.
Plasters, tissues, disinfectant — soothes more than it heals.
Some kids like to note letters or sketch a detail.
Chestnuts, stones, feathers — Rixdorf is full of them.
Weather Plan B
Light rain: no problem. Jacket on, tablet under the umbrella, off you go. Often the kids don't even notice.
Heavy rain or thunderstorms: pause the game. Nauti waits — your progress is saved on the device, even if you close the browser. Just don't switch devices. Café break, charge tablets, continue later. Or just postpone to tomorrow — the game code stays valid.
Heat above 28°: start earlier (before 11 a.m.) or late afternoon. Find shady spots, apply sunscreen, caps on. Double the water.
If this happens,
do this.
10 situations that come up in nearly every mission. None is a problem — when you know what to do.
Many cafés at Richardplatz and along Richardstraße have WCs for guests (one drink is enough). Tip: send everyone before you start — saves the mini-crisis later.
Protect the tablet, pause briefly, head into a café or under an archway. The game resumes as soon as you're back outside. If needed: postpone to tomorrow — the game code stays valid.
Activate the thumbs method: 👍 for · 👎 against · ↔️ unsure. Majority decides. If it's emotional: 1-minute pause, one sentence each, then vote again.
Snack break. Playground stop. After station 5 is a good moment for a half-time break. If nothing works: merge 2 stations briefly instead of stopping. The chest is worth it.
Don't solve it. Nauti has a hint button and gives up to three hints. First brainstorm out loud ("What options do we have?"), then press hint. Nauti helps.
Calmly repeat the crew rule: "Navigator leads, we stay together." If needed, give the navigator role to this child next — energy is strength, not a problem.
People live here — speak quietly near houses and courtyards, don't touch anything, keep paths clear. The stations work in a whisper too.
Plug in the power bank. Or grab a café stop with a power socket — you'll find them around Richardplatz and Richardstraße. Lower volume, dim the screen. Better to charge than to switch devices — your progress is saved on the device. Plan B: pause the game, continue later.
Explaining terms is fine (see mini game guide below). Some station texts have an info-box button — tap it, read it out.
Reload the page in the browser once. If it sticks: Nauti shows the address — walk there manually, Nauti waits. Location services can be moody, but stations also open within a radius of around 50 meters.
What the kids
will shout next.
You don't need to memorise the terms. But when your kid yells "We're at the trace-scan!" — a nod is enough.
The game elements at each station
Nauti checks in with audio: tells the station's story and gives the crew the next task.
Observe on site: what do you see at the monument, on the wall, on the sign? This is where the crew gathers clues.
The station's puzzle. Whoever was paying attention cracks it — and earns a letter for the chest.
Mini democracy: thumbs up, down, sideways. Majority decides. This is where they argue and laugh.
Quick reflection + crew proof photo. Becomes part of the photo collage at the end of the mission.
The transition screen between 2026 and 1737. Sends the crew between present and history — small effect, big wow.
The 3 roles — rotate every station
Follows map and GPS, leads the crew safely to the next station.
Reads out radio calls, moderates the team, takes the logbook photo.
Reads traces, cracks puzzles, joins team decisions. Everyone's a Naut — including Navigator and Chronicler.
Plus: 9 avatars to choose from
Everyone in the crew picks a Bohemian apprentice at the start — from Alex (baker) to Lukas (farmer). The avatar changes how Nauti speaks to the crew — the hints are the same for everyone. Want to switch? Just start over — no drama.

If you work out the chest's solution word along the way: please don't spoil it. The kids love watching the solution word build up letter by letter.
Your keepsakes.
Automatic.
When the chest opens, Nauti creates your keepsakes — right in the browser, with no action from you. Save everything before closing the tab.
With crew name, date and the rank you reached: Junior Localnauts, Crew, Pilots or Legends. The rank is based on stardust and deep traces — it locks nothing, it just shows. Print-ready, fridge-worthy.
All 10 time-proofs as one image. Stays only on your device — no upload, no cloud drama. AirDrop / mail to share is fine.
What the crew produced themselves: their team decisions, logbook entries and clue-scan answers, plus the result (solution word, stardust, rank). Clue photos as small previews. Printable or as a PDF — ideal for classroom follow-up.
Grows with your stardust: the more entries and scans, the denser your constellation. And crews that find every deep trace discover a secret extra in the chest.
On the way home — four questions better than "How was it?"
One package. No stress.
12 kids busy.
Localnauts works for 6, 8, 12 kids too — as long as you split the crew smartly and have 1–2 extra adults. The gift everyone talks about for months.
Cheat sheet for the birthday kid
- →Crew size: 2–6 kids per team, 4–5 is ideal. More kids → two teams in parallel. Per team: 1 device + 1 adult.
- →Starting: Send teams 10–15 minutes apart, so stations don't get crowded. Same start, same goal — different rhythms.
- →Meeting point: Agree on a fixed emergency meeting point before the start — e.g. a clearly visible spot at Richardplatz.
- →Chest finale: When all teams have their 10 letters, meet at the finish — the chest opens digitally in the game. If you like, place a small wooden box or treasure bag with little party favours there as an extra surprise for the crew.
- →Picnic: At the finish of the route — the perfect spot for cake + juice + opening presents.
- →Invitation: Localnauts has an invitation voucher to print — see newsletter / confirmation email.
Suggested timing (3 hours total)
Gather at the start, welcome, hand out devices, decide on crew names.
Incl. intro and breaks. With younger crews: plan a 10-min break after station 5 (playground / snack).
Chest finale + cake + presents + print certificates (when you swing past a café printer or back home).
